Men’s NRS Joins Amy’s Otway Tour
The cream of Australia’s domestic professional men’s & women’s teams will race a criterium on the Saturday in Lorne before lining up on the start line of the Gran Fondo course on Sunday morning. Both races will test the riders physically and the teams tactically, which will ensure some fantastic racing against the spectacular backdrop of the Great Ocean Road.
Updated Criterium Course
The revised layout for the 2017 Amy’s Otway Tour Criterium course will remain for 2018. Both the men and women of the National Road Series will tackle the revised circuit course on Saturday afternoon in Lorne, a course that now includes the infamous ‘Wall’ which whilst only measuring 110 meters long, has an average gradient of 15% of which they will battle it out for approximately 40 laps.
RACV Amy’s Gravel Fondo
RACV Amy’s Gravel Fondo is the perfect ride for those who want to take their riding off the bitumen and onto the gravel. RACV Amy’s Gravel Fondo will take place on Sunday, starting and finishing in Apollo Bay and covering a distance of 65 kilometers including 1,500 meters of climbing.
Whilst, not a technical course, it will still be challenging, perfect for those who prefer mountain or cyclocross bikes to road bikes.
Cyclocross racing will hit the Apollo Bay foreshore on Saturday afternoon as part of the Victorian CX Series.
Cyclocross is one of the fastest growing segments of the cycling industry with its combination of road and mountain biking attributes which contribute to it being so engaging to watch from the sidelines.
