Amy’s Otway Tour: part of the men’s and women’s Subaru NRS 2017
We are excited to announce that the Men’s National Road Series will be a part of Amy’s Otway Tour for 2017.
On Saturday 16 September 2017 the main street of Lorne will be closed for Amy’s Otway Tour Criterium, which commences at 3:00pm. A large crowd will be on hand to witness the riders take on the new 1km circuit, with spectators providing cash for random sprint laps to keep the action going.
Time bonuses awarded in the Criterium, which will carry forward to Amy’s Otway Tour, giving the sprinters a chance to build a time buffer before tackling the climbs in the Otway Ranges on Sunday morning.
Before the main field of Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo riders depart on Sunday 17 September 2017, Australia’s best male and female cyclists will take on the fully closed course for Amy’s Otway Tour.
The women will start at 7:30am and the men will start at 8:15am. Riders will complete the 120km course, covering a total of 2021 vertical metres and featuring the following climbs; 1 x category 2 climb, 2 x category 3 climbs and 1 x category 5 climb ahead of the Gran Fondo riders.
Presentations will take place at the stage on Mountjoy Parade in Lorne, immediately following the finish of both the Saturday Criteriums and the Sunday Road Races
