45km TAC Medio Fondo
The 45km TAC Medio Fondo starts in Apollo Bay taking riders along a breathtaking 45km stretch of the Great Ocean Road, before finishing on the main street in Lorne.
A bus and bike transfer is available from Lorne to Apollo Bay at 7:00am and 3:00pm. You can book your spot on the bus when you enter online.
A ‘Medio Fondo’, as the name implies, is a shortened version of a Gran Fondo. The 45km event is timed, so no matter what your aim, every rider will receive an official time.
But it’s not a race – with many participants taking the time to stop for photos along the way – enjoying every moment on the fully closed Great Ocean Road.
You don’t need to have a racing bike or be a regular rider to participate. The TAC Medio Fondo is ideal for intermediate bike riders and is a great goal to set for those who are relatively new to cycling.
The TAC Medio Fondo course features a series of smaller climbs and descents. The highest climb reaches 86m above sea level and the gradient of climbs rarely exceeds 5%.
If you have an existing entry, you can add a bus transfer by selecting ‘Purchase Merchandise Only’ here (link to registration page).
You must purchase a bus transfer before registrations close or bus transfers are sold out as spaces are limited. No transfers are available for purchase at the event.
