Amy’s Gran Fondo Continues In 2025!
The Story Behind The World-Class Event
The inaugural Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo was hosted in 2011 following the tragic death of Amy Gillett, an elite cyclist who tragically lost her life while training with the Australian Women’s Cycling Team in Germany.
The annual event features the roads that Amy trained on, including Australia’s most spectacular stretch of coastal road, the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.
The Amy Gillett Foundation’s Mission is to improve the relationship between motorists and cyclists, and cyclists and pedestrians, and to enhance safety by separating road users through law, technology and physical infrastructure.
The next Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo will be a public recreational ride, held on the same morning as the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships on October 19th, 2025.

Support Amy Gillett Foundation in the 2025 Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo
Thank you for helping us make cycling safe in Australia! One in five people who are injured on Australian roads are riding their bike. Every 10 days a cyclist is killed. That’s nearly 40 people each year.
These deaths are preventable and this isn’t good enough. With your help, AGF can save more lives. Our vision is for zero deaths and injuries of people riding bikes on our roads. We know this is achievable.
Your donations support research, create education programs and advocate for safe cycling – everything we do is to make it safe for people to get home to the people they love. Every dollar helped us get A Metre Matters across the line nationwide, but there’s still work to be done. We need your help to get to zero deaths.
Thanks to your fundraising, we can do more every year. Support a safe future for cyclists.
